Royal Wedding: The other Catherine Middleton prepares

Catherine Middleton, the elderly namesake of Prince William’s fiancée, is planning to watch the Royal Wedding on television at her daughter’s house. She is a big admirer of the Kate Middleton we all know and was delighted by her engagement to the Prince. She says she had always made a point of watching the Royal Weddings in the past. She had the first television in the area of Porthcawl and made a habit out of inviting everyone in the neighborhood when something important came on. Catherine herself has been engaged for a total of eight times.
This is such a cute little story. I think it is nice for this old lady that people ask about her just because she is the namesake of someone important. The wonderful thing is that the things she says are actually quite interesting. Who would expect a decent old lady to have been engaged eight times?

This entry is yet to be edited due to lack of time.

Three arrests over Wolverhampton couple's murder

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of an elderly Italian couple in Wolverhampton. Mr. and Mrs. Massaro were found dead at their home on Friday. The couple had moved to England in the 1960’s and had a number of children and grandchildren who will miss them terribly. At St Patrick’s Chuch in New Cross, the chuch they used to attend, special prayers were held in memory of the couple on Sunday. A post mortem examination will continue on Monday. The man, aged between 21 and 32, were arrested overnight.

I think this is a vague article. The reporter does not tell us what exactly happened to the elderly couple or what the motives of the killers were. I wonder whether this is a simple robbery or if there is perhaps a more complicated reason, such as organized crime or personal reasons. Especially since they are Italian, it would be so tragic and exciting if they were actually involved in such a thing. However, the acticle was very short, thus it was quite difficult for me to summarize it without repeating things.

Court Results put on Twitter by West Midlands Police

Because of a decline in court reporting in recent years, an initiative was designer to make the public more aware of the cases police deal with. A 24h twitter marathon was held in which the West Midlands Police were allowed to post small descriptions of the cases they encountered on the popular site. Mr. Anderson, the starter of the initiative, hopes that the ´tweet-a-thon' will give people a flavor of the range of offenders the police deal with, an insight into the court system and peace of mind that justice is being done.

I think this initiative might be a good one, but could also cause some problems. On one hand it is a good thing that the police are trying to raise awareness and that they are focusing on gaining the trust of the common people. Also, an important factor is freedom of speech. These officers have the right to talk about their jobs. However, I do think this might cause some trouble with people's privacy being invaded. I do not think many people like being put on twitter after committing a crime.
